The following announcement was provided by Armstrong Corporation:

An increase in steel pricing has been communicated by our raw material suppliers for Architectural Specialties standard and custom metal ceilings.  Effective September 1 a 15% price increase on all standard Architectural Specialties metal products will take effect.  Custom Quotations will be reviewed and communicated separately as appropriate.

Please begin reflecting the price increase on all new quotations immediately.

Please use the following escalators for projects into 2009. These escalators should apply to all Architectural Specialties products including MetalWorks, WoodWorks, SoundSoak and Canopies.   

Escalators are guidelines, not commitments.

• +5% for quotes on or after January 1, 2009
• +5% for quotes on or after June 1, 2009
